England levelled the cricket series against New Zealand when they won the second Test by an emphatic 126 runs on the final morning at the Basin Reserve here Monday. It was their first victory in nine months and first away Test win since beating India two years ago.England square the series with a 126 run win. It was setup by a fine century by Ambrose, followed by an outstanding fifer from Anderson in the first innings. Collingwood held the second innings together as well before Sidebottom picked up 5 in the next innings.

Daniel Vettori: "It was even all through except for Ambrose's hundred, he took the game away from us. I think a couple of bowlers stood out, especially Kyle Mills and Jacob Oram. It was the third session on the first day that took the game from us. We'll give our bowlers a good rest. We know the wicket in Napier is going to be pretty flat and we're ready to work hard for 5 days."

Michael Vaughan: "Yea it was a good display. We let ourselves down so to come back stong is pretty pleasing. It(Ambrose and Collingwood's partnership in the first innings) was the defining partnership of the match. 350 on that wicket was always going to be a respectable total. We didn't catch as well this week, hopefully in Napier we can give an even better performace. Anderson bowled really well. I'm delighted with the whole team, Ambrose's hundred, Collingwood's innings. Sidebottom bowled extremely well and put the NZ batsmen under pressure."
